Colombo to Jaffna - Jaffna to Colombo flight service.

Jaffna - Colombo flight service is going to start soon which will enable passengers to reach their destination within one hour of flight time.

There are daily two flights scheduled to take off from Colombo to Jaffna and Jaffna to Colombo. Cessna aircraft with 12 seats is going to fly between these two cities daily.

Currently there are no flight service between Colombo and Jaffna as there is not much demand from people for it. The road service is provided by Luxury coaches and Semi luxury coaches with passenger tickets ranging from Rs.1, 200/- Rs.550/-. The road journey will take nearly 8 hours through the A9 Jaffna Kandy road.

Who is going to operate the Jaffna Colombo flight Service?

I am not a Sri Lankan; do I need special permission to travel Jaffna?

No it is not necessary to obtain special permission, although you are advised to carry your personal identification and valid visa for your stay in Srilanka.
