Notice: Colombo BIA, Report Timing For Departure Passengers Back To Normal.

Aircraft boarding colombo airport

From Friday 7th of April 2017 onwards BIA at Colombo, Sri Lanka will function 24 hrs a day. Passengers who want to take their flight from the Colombo International airport can report 3 hours before their flight time as it was earlier. There is no more report 5 hours prior to your departure.

Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), was partially closed from January 6 to April 6 for runway renovation works. During this period passengers were asked to be in the airport 05 hours prior to their scheduled flight time when they wanted to fly through the Colombo airport during the past 3-month partial closure period.

Now local passengers going to fly through the BIA complex can take their relatives and friends up to the departure common area, if each of them has purchased the airport entry ticket on that day.

Mean while the national carrier SriLankan Airlines too had cancelled many flights and adjusted many flights schedules to alternate times of the day during that 3 month period of renovation. Now the SriLankan Airline is back to its normal operating schedules with its flights to Europe, North America, Australia and Asia regions.
